BCS works, NFL playoffs don’t

by admin

My friend Stewart Mandel has done it again, perfectly explaining something I was thinking about before I got to it. You can read his column at this link: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/stewart_mandel/01/22/cardinals-bcs/index.html?eref=T1 The nut of it is that the Arizona Cardinals are the ultimate example of why the BCS system works and the NFL playoffs don’t. We can argue whether Florida or Texas or Utah should have been in the game, but at least we don’t have to deal with a championship final between, say, Kansas and Cincinnati because … Read More »

Any truth to Harvin rumors?

by admin

So are the rumors flying around Dolphin Stadium that Percy Harvin re-injured his right ankle in Florida’s last full practice and may be limited for tonight’s game true? Gamecocks tarnishing Spurrier’s legacy

by admin

My cell has been ringing all day, my “Champagne High” ring tone started to be irritating. Everyone wants to talk about the same thing and it’s not the first day of bowl week for the Gators and Sooners. They want to know about Steve Spurrier. Do I think he’s going to walk away? Is it time for him to hang it up? It was painful to watch his team play in the Outback Bowl. The Gamies … Read More »
