Dr. Football feels reborn after an amazing start to the season. The first week of SEC play was revealing in some cases (Alabama), almost meaningless in others (Auburn) and devastating if your nickname is the Bulldogs. Mississippi State lost a game. No Duke vote by Spurrier

Duke did not receive a vote. That is significant because each year Steve Spurrier votes Duke 25th in his first poll as a tribute to the school that gave him his first head coaching job.
