Georgia coach Mark Richt sent a letter to the Southeastern Conference apologizing for the actions of his team Saturday following the Bulldogs’ first touchdown against Florida in a 42-30 win Saturday.
SEC commissioner Mike Slive has accepted Richt’s apology and considers the matter closed, according to SEC associate commissioner Charles Bloom.
Following Knowshon Moreno’s touchdown in the first quarter, the entire Georgia team rushed the field causing the officials to call two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Richt said later …

Just when you thought the SEC couldn’t get any crazier, ladies and gentlemen, I give you Oct. 27.
On Saturday, a Georgia team that was smashed by Tennessee beat a Florida team that hammered Tennessee. Don’t throw comparative scores around because they make no sense.

On the trip to and from Kentucky I was able to read Stewart Mandel’s book “Bowls, Polls and Tattered Souls.” If you are a college football fan, it should be your bible. If not, you probably shouldn’t be reading me anyway.

LEXINGTON. Ky. ” I’ve figured it out. Kentucky is neither a basketball school or a football school. It’s a Cornhole school.
Cornhole is the name of the game that has taken this area by storm. For those of you who have never seen or heard of it, Cornhole or Corn Toss is similar to horseshoes except you use wooden boxes called cornhole platforms and corn bags instead of horseshoes and metal stakes.

I agree with my friend Stewart Mandel of SI.com, who wrote this week that maybe we should stop using the word “upset” so much in college football.
