NFL Draft Day used to be one of the biggest days in my life when I covered the NFL. This was before ESPN super-sized it and turned it into an all day for the suckers. Gator fans were still buzzing about the basketball team’s back-to-back-to-back national titles in basketball and football Tuesday morning.
That includes the one in Columbia, S.C., who was getting ready to tee it up when he called both Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley and basketball coach Billy Donovan to offer his congratulations.
“That’s an amazing basketball team,” said South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier in a cell phone call to The Sun. “Billy has done an unbelievable job with them.”

Florida fans were the loudest group on the first night of the Final
Four, in part because they had better seats than Ohio State fans. But
the lure of watching another Florida team possibly win a national title
added to the traffic on I-75 on Monday.
Gator fans were everywhere in downtown Atlanta during the day trying
to find tickets from scalpers or disappointed UCLA and Georgetown fans.

Ron Lewis has us all confused.
Was he trash-talking or giving Florida respect on Sunday?
Maybe a little bit of both.
The Ohio State guard said he considers the Buckeyes to be a great team. Florida, he said, is a good team.
