Billy Donovan’s mindset: A year ago, Florida came to this tournament as the three-time defending champion. The Gators were embarrassed by Alabama in the first round. “Last year, it was somewhat of an eye-opening experience,” he said. “But it’s not like I, as a coach, have dwelled on last year.” Nor has he dwelled on Florida’s NCAA hopes. “All that stuff really doesn’t mean anything,” he said. “Sunday is going to get here soon enough. You’ve got a game in front of you right now.”
